It’s a little hard to believe, but summer 2025 is already winding down. We’re just four weeks away from Labor Day and in many places around the country, school resumes in just two weeks.
But all is not lost. There’s still time for one last summer getaway. And to help you plan that escape, the experts at Skyscanner have dug through their data to identify 10 destinations with the biggest airfare price drop for August 2025 compared to August 2024.
The results of that effort turned up both international locations and one or two U.S. cities as well.
Without further ado, here are 10 places you can jet off to in August along with data on how much ticket prices have declined year-over-year.

Travel the opposite way of the crowd
Around major events or holidays, time your flight can help you secure the best deals. For example, flying out for Labor Day weekend on a Thursday rather than a Friday or Saturday is often more affordable, says Laura Lindsay, global travel trends expert at Skyscanner .
“Over Labor Day, you may also find cheaper flights to Europe compared to popular domestic destinations, since most Americans tend to stay domestic for these holiday weekends,” adds Lindsay.
Compare domestic and international flights
Exploring both domestic flight and international flight deals can broaden your travel horizons, and who doesn't love that?
"When domestic travel demand is high, like it is during Labor Day weekend in the U.S., international destinations may be a better deal," says Lindsay.
Explore alternative destinations
Sure you may have your heart set on Rome, for instance or Barcelona. But such well-known options almost always come with bigger crowds and higher prices.
"Flexibility with your travel destination is key," says Lindsay. "It lets you capitalize on discounts and explore unique, crowd-free experiences."
