Midwest fliers heading to the City of Light have a swanky new space to relax inside Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD).

On October 17, Air France opened its first-ever lounge at ORD, complete with fine French dining and a “refined, chic atmosphere,” according to the Paris-based carrier.

The new space, located in the airport’s Terminal 5, measures more than 5,000 square feet and has 105 seats. Inside, travelers will find high ceilings, sweeping views of the runways, and large bay windows that drench the lounge in natural light.

Stylish furnishings, including winged armchairs with ottomans facing the runways, are upholstered in the airline’s signature navy blue. There’s also a small private area for Air France Flying Blue Ultimate customers to relax in a more exclusive space.

French cuisine is at the heart of the lounge, with a large, 40-seat dining area. Here, travelers will find classic French dishes, like beef bourguignon, country-style chicken, and chocolate mousse with caramel cream.

A separate bar area offers fliers Champagne, French wine, and spirits, with a design “inspired by the atmosphere of the grand Parisian hotels,” according to the airline.

In order to access the new lounge, travelers must be flying in business class Air France or KLM or have Flying Blue Elite Plus status. The lounge is open every day from 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

In winter 2025, Air France plans to operate up to seven flights per week between Chicago O’Hare and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) using its Airbus A350 planes.
