American Airlines has rolled out a new flight schedule that makes travel to the British Virgin Islands (BVI) significantly easier, particularly for travelers who are currently accustomed to overnight layovers in Miami.

The airline has introduced its first late-night arrival into the territory, paired with an early-morning departure, creating a new travel option that eliminates the need for a hotel stay in South Florida. The new service launched on December 18 and is operating daily through March.

Departing from Miami, American Airlines Flight 3668 now arrives at the BVI’s Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) on Beef Island at 10:14 p.m., while Flight 3398 departs EIS for Miami the following morning at 8:00 a.m.

“The BVI Airports Authority is proud to mark American Airlines’ inaugural overnight service between Miami and Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport, a major milestone that significantly enhances air connectivity to the British Virgin Islands,” said Kurt Menal, Director of the BVI Airports Authority. “This new service expands access to key U.S. markets, strengthens our tourism offering, and provides greater flexibility for residents, visitors, families and business travelers alike. We thank American Airlines for its continued partnership and remain committed to further enhancing airlift and the overall travel experience to and from the BVI.”

The late-night and early-hours options build on American’s already robust presence in the destination. The airline currently operates five daily nonstop flights between Miami and Beef Island, and the expanded schedule provides travelers with greater flexibility to connect from other parts of North America and internationally via Miami.

“Improved air access is critical to the continued growth of tourism in the British Virgin Islands, and this expanded American Airlines service marks a significant step forward,” said Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism for the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board. “The new daily schedule removes a major barrier for travelers, making it easier for visitors from North America, as well as the UK and Europe, to reach the BVI without overnight stops, strengthening our competitiveness in the Caribbean while continuing to enhance accessibility without compromising the high-quality experience the destination is known for.”
