West Coast fliers have a new chance to live La Dolce Vita in 2026 now that fares are officially on sale for Alaska Airlines’ upcoming route from Seattle to Rome.

The new seasonal nonstop route from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) launches April 28, 2026, and fares are as low as $599 roundtrip.

Due to popular demand, Alaska says it will operate daily flights on the route throughout the summer season, a significant increase from its initial announcement of just four flights per week. Passengers will have access to the daily flight from late April to early October.

Alaska also announced that it will use its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes to fly the route. On board, travelers will get to experience the airline’s brand new international long-haul cabin concept.

The carrier unveiled the first look at its new long-haul business class on Thursday. The cabin will offer 34 suites with sliding privacy doors and lie-flat seats, all with direct access to the aisle. Each berth will also have an 18-inch entertainment screen, noise-reducing headsets, a power outlet, and wireless charging. Business class passengers will also be offered Filson bedding, amenity kits by Salt & Stone, and multi-course in-flight meals.

“This is the Alaska experience our guests already love – taken to an entirely new level,” said Todd Traynor-Corey, Alaska’s vice president of guest products and experience. “We’re building the most extraordinary guest experience of any U.S. airline flying internationally. Our guests will feel the difference from the moment they take off to the moment they arrive.”

The new flight to Rome is the carrier’s first-ever route to Europe, with other transatlantic destinations like Reykjavik and London also launching from Seattle later in 2026.

“With our nonstop service from Seattle to Rome and London, we’re opening the door to two of the world’s most iconic regions with the style and care our guests expect from us,” said Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines’ chief commercial officer. “These new routes mark a tremendous step in our global expansion and reflect our commitment to delivering a premium international experience from Seattle. We’re elated to connect the Pacific Northwest to more of the world.”
