Las Vegas Travel Guide

Have a look through our Las Vegas travel guide to make your stay in America’s Playground as fun as possible! Also known as Sin City, this city is full of casinos, neon lights, lavish hotels, and restaurants run by some of the world's best chefs.

Whether you’re headed to Vegas to celebrate, party, or just see a new part of the world, find out everything you need to know in this Las Vegas travel guide.

Las Vegas isn’t a walkable city, so you’ll need to find other ways to get around. Public transportation is easy to come by, so there’s no need to hire a car.

We find that the easiest option is to use an e-hailing service to call a taxi to your exact location to pick you up. If you’re not a fan of these services, there are buses that will transport you around the city, as well as buses dedicated to transporting people up and down the Strip.

If you’re going downtown, you can make use of the Downtown Loop. It’s a free shuttle available Sunday through Thursday from 11 am to 6 am.

Top Things To Do

Caesars Palace, Las Vegas
We all know that Las Vegas is your casino go-to, but what are some other best things to do in Las Vegas? Does it have more to offer? It sure does!

Important Things To Know

Currency

Las Vegas makes use of the US Dollar, but you’ll surely want to exchange those dollars for some chips at the casino table!

National Languages

The most widely spoken language in the area is English. There are also plenty of Spanish-speaking residents, so you’ll be able to get by if you know either of these languages.

Time Zone

Las Vegas uses Pacific Standard Time, UTC-08:00. The area observes Daylight Savings Time during the winter months to preserve daylight hours. This is usually between mid-March and mid-November, and the time zone then becomes Pacific Daylight Savings Time, or UTC-07:00.

Climate and Weather

Las Vegas has a subtropical hot desert climate. It has long, extremely hot summers, and short winters with mild days. The nights during winter can get quite cool, and the transition seasons of Fall and Spring are fairly warm.

The average high temperature is 81°F (27°C) and the average low temperature is 56 °F (13 °C).

When To Visit Las Vegas

You’ll find plenty of package deals throughout the year, but we suggest visiting in the moderate seasons of Fall and Spring.

The heat is much more tolerable during these times, which are from March to May and September to November.

Best Attractions In Las Vegas

  • The Adventuredome Indoor Theme Park. We love this unique theme park, which is contained within a large glass dome. It features rollercoasters, a rock climbing wall, a video game arcade, and rock-climbing walls. Thanks to the glass dome, it’s unaffected by weather so it’s open all year round!
  • Fremont Street Experience. This is an iconic pedestrian mall, stretching five full blocks. You can shop, catch free concerts, and have a look at the world’s largest video screen!
  • Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. This was the first Madame Tussauds venue to open in the US, boasting wax figures of celebrities and sports legends, and even offering a 4D movie experience.
