It takes a lot of work to be a travel advisor. Offering personalized, expert guidance to create customized itineraries, save clients time, and provide support before, during, and after travel, advisors provide extraordinary value to every travel experience.

That level of expertise deserves more than a “thank you.”  It should be recognized and rewarded every time you book. That’s where Expedia TAAP Rewards comes in – a loyalty program designed exclusively for travel advisors who book through the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP). It doesn’t replace commission. Instead, it gives individual advisors an additional, personalized reward for every eligible trip they design on the platform.

What is Expedia TAAP Rewards?

Expedia TAAP Rewards is a loyalty program built specifically for travel advisors, recognizing the crucial role they play in today’s travel ecosystem.

Once enrolled, advisors earn reward points on eligible standalone and package rate property bookings made on Expedia TAAP, with points awarded on a simple 1:1 basis – one reward point for every dollar spent on qualifying property bookings, inclusive of taxes and fees.

These reward points are tied to the individual advisor’s Expedia TAAP profile, not just the agency, so the person doing the work sees the benefit directly. After a booking is made, points move into a “pending” status and then become available in the advisor’s active balance shortly after the traveler has completed their stay, ensuring rewards are tied to travel.

Once an advisor reaches the minimum redemption threshold, they can redeem their reward points for digital gift cards from a curated catalogue of popular retailers, with options tailored to each market.

How the program works in practice

Enrolling in Expedia TAAP Rewards is straightforward. Advisors sign in to Expedia TAAP Rewards from the Expedia TAAP homepage, where they can review and accept the program rules and complete a quick signup flow. Enrollment is free for eligible advisors in participating markets.

Thereafter, every eligible standalone or package rate property booking made on Expedia TAAP using the advisor’s registered profile earns reward points automatically, with no minimum booking requirement. Bookings that form part of bundled “flight + hotel” Expedia package products are excluded, ensuring the focus remains on hotel standalone and package rate property bookings on Expedia TAAP.

Advisors can track their available reward points balance both on the Expedia TAAP homepage and on loyalty website.

Once they reach the minimum redemption level set for their market, they can choose from a range of popular retail brands across a range of categories, receiving digital gift cards directly to their inbox.

A growing global footprint

Initially launched for U.S. travel advisors, Expedia TAAP Rewards has rapidly gained traction and expanded its footprint. Since its 2022 debut in the United States and subsequent launch in Canada and Mexico in 2024, the program has seen strong adoption: in the U.S., the majority of active Expedia TAAP agents are now enrolled, with even higher participation rates reported in Canada and Mexico.

On the back of that momentum, Expedia Group has expanded the program to additional markets. Advisors in Brazil, the U.K., Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand are joining colleagues in North America in gaining access to the rewards platform, with program rules and gift card catalogues tailored to each region.

Turning every eligible booking into more

If you or your agency already book with Expedia TAAP, Expedia TAAP Rewards is an opportunity to unlock additional value without changing how you work. If you are new to the platform, it’s another reason to consider adding TAAP to your toolkit.

Advisors in participating markets can enroll in just a few clicks via the Expedia TAAP Rewards site, linked from the Expedia TAAP homepage, and start earning reward points on eligible property bookings right away – all while continuing to receive commission from their Expedia TAAP reservations. In a competitive landscape where every edge matters, Expedia TAAP Rewards effectively turns every qualifying booking into both agency revenue and a personal reward moment for the advisor behind it.
