Top Things To Do

Holidays at Magic Kingdom Park
Orlando offers an incredibly wide range of attractions, including the world-famous Walt Disney World and many other theme parks and opportunities for entertainment. With so many things to choose from, it can be difficult to narrow down a to-do list for your vacation. To give you a good starting point, here’s our list of the best things to do in Orlando.

Important Things To Know

Currency

Orlando uses the American Dollar. Most places will accept your credit card if it’s through a major provider such as Visa or Mastercard.

If you’re traveling from elsewhere and want to exchange your money for Dollars, there are some currency exchange stores across Orlando. If you want to withdraw money from an ATM, you’ll have no problem finding one around town.

National Languages

Most people in the US, and in Orlando, speak English as their first language.

The second and third most common languages in Orlando are Spanish and Haitian Creole.

Time Zone

Orlando uses Eastern Standard Time and switches its clocks one hour forward during Daylight Savings Time. This is to preserve daylight hours during winter when days are short.

Climate and Weather

Orlando has a humid subtropical climate. This climate type is defined by humid, hot summers, and mild winters. So it doesn’t get very cold during winter and you shouldn’t expect to see snow.

There are two main seasons in Orlando –  one hot and rainy season (June through September), and one humid and dry season (October through May).

The best time to visit Orlando is between March and May. The weather is fairly mild in these months, so you won’t need to deal with uncomfortable heat while you enjoy outdoor activities and theme parks.

If you’d prefer to go in the height of summer, you’ll want to visit Orlando between June and August. This is when most tourists are visiting the city though, so you can expect crowds at the theme parks around town.
