It’s fall in the Florida Keys, and while much of the country is celebrating with pumpkin-flavored treats and warm jackets, The Keys are enjoying warm, salty breezes and flavors of key lime, coconut and mango.

Getting to The Keys has gotten easier with a new airline service and more added routes on others. New attractions include a newly branded Dolphin Life Hospital in Islamorada and the historic Elizabeth Bishop House & Garden opening to the public in Key West in November.

But there are plenty of other options for those visiting the tropical island paradise this fall.

Airport & Airlines

At Key West International Airport, the all-new Conch Flyer restaurant reopened in the new Concourse A. Beginning October 3, Allegiant will add nonstop flights from Knoxville, Tennessee’s McGhee Tyson Airport on Mondays and Fridays.

On November 19, Avelo Airlines begins nonstop service from Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Breeze Airways will launch service from Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina (RDU) on Mondays and Friday and beginning November 6, Spirit Airlines will service Key West four times a week from Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
